ENMy Club Green Crescent Truck Reached 864 Children And Youth In Hatay And Gaziantep
"My Club is Green Crescent Truck", which was implemented in cooperation with the Green Crescent and TÜMOSAN, supported the children in the earthquake area.
Green Crescent provided psychosocial support services to 864 children and young people at the stops in Hatay and Gaziantep through the “My Club is Green Crescent Truck” within the scope of the “Psychosocial Support to Children Affected by the Earthquake Project”. “My Club is Green Crescent Truck”, which started its journey in earthquake zones in April with the cooperation of TÜMOSAN, one of the Green Crescent and Albayrak Group companies, covered 1,361 km and carried out 168 activities in Hatay and Gaziantep.
Green Crescent, which has been serving to protect society from harmful habits for 103 years and combating addictions such as tobacco, alcohol, drugs, technology and gambling by using scientific methods, carried out psychosocial support activities for children and young people affected by the earthquake with the "My Club is Green Crescent Truck", which set out in cooperation with TÜMOSAN, one of the Albayrak Group companies.
Organized hundreds of activities with the participation of thousands of children and young people and started its activities in Hatay in April, “My Club is Green Crescent Truck” returned to Hatay after the Gaziantep stop. Psychosocial support activities for children and young people were carried out in the Albayrak Container City in Kırıkhan, Hatay, the 3rd stop of “My Club is Green Crescent Truck” until 10 June.
“My Club is Green Crescent Truck”, which started as a pilot application in two tents in Adıyaman and Kahramanmaraş, continued its activities in cooperation with TÜMOSAN. The cooperation process, which started with the Albayrak Group with donations and sponsorships, continued with corporate volunteering activities, and as of May 30, Albayrak Volunteers started to take part in the activities in the event truck in Hatay.
367 CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WERE REACHED IN GAZIANTEP
The truck, which aims to reduce anxiety and socialize children by expressing themselves through games, physical activities and events, and was staffed by developmental psychologists, clinical psychologists, pedagogues and trainers as well as Young Green Crescent members, carried out 84 activities at the Gaziantep stop.
24 personnel and 68 volunteers participated in the Gaziantep stop, where 367 children and young people (205 boys and 162 girls) participated in psychological support and rehabilitation activities. The satisfaction percentage of the project was measured as 98% in Gaziantep.
497 CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE MET IN HATAY STOP AT 84 ACTIVITIES
497 children and young people met in 84 activities at the Hatay stop of the "My Club is Green Crescent Truck", which includes different activities for the age groups of 4-7, 8-13 and 14-18. The satisfaction level was measured as 94% in the activities in which 31 personnel and 39 volunteers took part.
282 boys, 215 girls and young people benefited from the psychological support services provided by the truck. 84% of the said activities were carried out in trucks and 16% in tents.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES FOR AGE GROUPS
In “My Club is Green Crescent Truck”, many activities took place, from movie screenings to story and painting works, from box and card stations to sports activities for the 4-7, 8-13 and 14-18 age groups.
In the project, which increased the communication and interaction of children and young people with their peers, spaces were also created where children affected by the earthquake could express their feelings. In the programs created with the aim of reducing the impact of the trauma experienced due to the disaster, solving the problems of adaptation to the experienced process and increasing personal development, children were also allowed to design and carry out free activities.
